The F117 engine was developed by Pratt & Whitney as a derivative of the PW2040, it’s civil aviation version, and entered service in 1991. Designated as the F117-PW-100 by the United States Department of Defense, this engine is used exclusively by the United States Airforce to power the C-17 Globemaster III military transport aircraft. Today the F117 engine utilizes technical and material enhancements to achieve a reduced temperature configuration (RTC) leading to strong reliability. With 40,400 pounds of thrust, the strong performance of this engine solidifies the top spot for midrange thrust. CTS Engines is positioned to support this unique powerplant with full service maintenance solutions.
